Musashi Umi Katana

From the Musashi Gold Masaru Series comes this intricately hand crafted “Umi” Katana. Kobuse-kitae hand forged technique combining 1060 and 1045 high carbon steel resulting a beautiful and resilient blade with a unique hamon pattern. With hard steel wrapped around soft steel, the Umi Katana is both strong and flexible.

The detailed Maru Gata style brass tsuba depicts the pattern of the “Umi”, or ocean. One side of the tsuba shows a calm ocean with birds in the sky, while the other side of the tsuba shows how dangerous oceans can be with aggressive tidal waves pounding away. Such is the way of the Samurai. In time of peace they are calm and collected, but when war erupts, they are fierce and formidable.

The wood handle is real ray skin wrapped in traditional black cotton cord. It also features brass Fuchi and Kashira.

Included with this katana is a maintenance kit to make sure your katana lasts a lifetime as well as a premium sword bag, deluxe gift box, Certificate of Authenticity. Each sword is individually numbered on the tang.
