From the Asuka Series comes this intricately hand crafted O-Goncho (White Dragon) Tanto. Using Maru-kitae hand forged technique with 1060 steel the result is a beautiful and resilient blade with Gunome style hamon pattern.

The beautiful red saya depicts O-Goncho which is a fierce white Japanese dragon that lives in a deep pool named Ukisima. Every fifty years O-Goncho is known to rise from the deep pond to cry out with the howl and screech of a wolf. In that year, tremendous famine spreads.

The Tanto in 16th century culture was used as a "harakiri" weapon if the Samurai Warrior brought shame to their Family name. In popular culture today the Tanto is used for self defense and for home décor. The design of the tanto blade is also very popular as a tactical knife, numerous tactical knives now uses a tanto blade. Our traditional style tanto is a work of art with a perfect balance of elegance and functionality.  Includes a deluxe gift box, it will make a perfect gift or as an addition to your collection.
