From the Musha Collection comes this intricately hand forged Shirasaya which is a minimalist’s dream. Full tang 1045 high carbon steel makes this a resilient katana that is razor sharp right out of the box.

Traditionally Shirasayas were used to store the Samurai's blade when not in use. It has a clean wood handle, no wraps, no accessories, and a simple matching wood saya.

A unique feature on this Shirasaya is the integrated Bo-Hi on the blade. Bo-Hi is commonly known as blood grooves, but that is a common misconception. The purpose of the Bo-Hi is to help reduce the weight of the katana, it actually has nothing to do with channeling the blood. Making the Katana lighter enables the user to wield the katana better and puts less stress on the hands. Not to mention it benefits some advance cutting techniques that requires the katana to change direction rapidly.

All Musha swords can be fully disassembled and reassembled. With our Shirasayas you are free to add any style Tsuba, Fuchi, or Kashira to make the tsuba you want and make your katana truly unique.
